Handgun 201

Handgun 201 is an 8 hour course of instruction that seeks to advance the student’s understanding, and abilities, by applying principles of adult learning to further their understanding of handgun manipulation, safety, and marksmanship under stress. Students will be introduced to the concepts of “performance vs. outcome”, and thoughtful analysis of the physiological and psychological processes. THIS IS NOT A BASIC SHOOTING COURSE. Additional topics covered will be; proper mindset, various shooting positions, stoppage clearances, reloads, efficiency of movement, the importance of proper dry fire practice, and more. This class is fundamentally grounded and marksmanship intensive. There will be several graded courses of fire which must be successfully completed in order to receive a Certificate of Completion. Successful completion is required to progress to pistol 301. This course is recommended to:

Students who wish to advance their firearm handling skills or, want to become a competitive shooter.
Law Enforcement Officers, Military or, Private Security Personnel, who are looking to improve upon their shooting skills in order to survive in today’s environment.
The student who is seeking to enhance their understanding, and ability, to apply the fundamentals of marksmanship on demand and, under stress.

A note on Equipment: We strongly suggest that you bring a handgun with which you are familiar and, is reliable. Attending with your Jam-o-Matic is going to frustrate you, the other students, and your Instructors. Also, A good holster and belt are a MUST. Time and time again we see students arrive with a $500 Handgun, a $15 holster, and a $10 Wal-Mart belt. This is a recipe for disappointment. We recommend buying a quality holster, with a reinforced opening and, a sturdy belt. We find KYDEX, to be the best all around holster material. Take the time to do a little research, call us for info if you like, and you'll enjoy the training experience.
